Starting from 1 January 2023 the UAE introduced Involuntary Loss of Employment (ILOE) Insurance.

What is ILOE?
ILOE stands for Involuntary Loss of Employment. This unique scheme provides security for employees who lost their jobs due to reasons other than disciplinary action or resignation until they find a new job.

Who is eligible for subscription?

All residents working in the private and federal government sectors.

Compensation options

Eligible employees can get a cash compensation of 60% of their average basic salary in the last six months prior to the job loss.

The cash compensation will be for up to three months if you have been subscribed to the scheme for twelve consecutive months at least.

How to subscribe?

Go to www.iloe.ae or ILOE mobile app, and make sure you have the following documents on hand:

  • Emirates ID or Unified Number
  • Valid UAE mobile number

How much does it cost?

There are 2 categories of employees which impact the amount of premium to pay:

Category A: For the employees with basic salaries of AED16,000 or below, the premium is AED5 +VAT per month.

Category B: For the employees with basic salaries of above AED16,000, the premium is AED10 +VAT per month.
